The project brief set by Numark Ltd. called for 2 websites to be developed to allow the company to manage both their member facing and public facing presence from one single management portal. The core of this project was built on top of the GI-Edit modular CMS platform developed in house by Guerilla Interactive. The editorial structure within the company along with features including member publishing and resource tracking required a strong role based user management system to be implemented.
Numark Pharmacists, a CMS driven public facing health information resource
The public facing front end needed to integrate with systems for publishing public health information,meaning that the website would always show the latest in health information to consumers. Along with this feeds from the NHS would also be integrated to show the latest in health alerts and public information.
The Public facing site used a strong full text based search engine that would allow people to narrow down their searches and quickly find the information they were looking for. The use of JQuery and AJAX calls help the end user to navigate through several tiers of information from the home page without having to visit several sections before finding the information they need. the site also implements the 3 click rule where any single piece of information is never more than 3 clicks away from the users entry point. Several weeks of schematic devwelopment were held before the project started to ensure this was the case.
The finished product ran through several rounds of end user testing and went live in 2009.
The member facing side of the project is targeted directly at pharmacists and support staff. The extranet allows members to log in to their dashboard and access the information they need quickly and without further validation. A single point of entry is supplied to allow members to update their individual micro sites, collect health information and download documentation on demand. There are and ever expanding number of features being added to the system to allow for the expansion of the business itself and of the membership schemes in place.
NumerkNet, a CMS driven membership based system for pharmacists and health specialists
The Extranet is designed to collect usage information about the members actions to allow for the future implementation of on-demand services and statistic based advertising. This data collection also enables the company tom accurately predict the usage of the system, specific features or the management of peak time load across the load balanced network.
This project was completed on behalf of Guerilla Interactive in 2009 and has been running sucsesfully since.
